"2+ Months of Silence" - Meetup
·Welcome to part II of us being bad and in radio silence for 2 months.
This time, buckle up for a wild ride as we dive into the meetup we crashed — totally unrelated to gaming, mind you. But hey, when opportunity knocks, what do we say? “Yes Man”
Shoutout to the amazing organizers of Women Techmakers 2024 for extending the invite our way! And a special thanks to Mariam Akhalaia, who seems to be an early ambassador of our game.
This event marked our debut on the scene (okay…there was no scene), and while we're eyeing game dev conferences once we have a demo ready, let's not overlook the beauty of seizing the moment. This experience was real, happening right here and now, and it was a blast!
We had the chance to verbally paint a picture of our game to a bunch of curious minds and spread the word. The energy and feedback we received were incredibly energizing and motivating - big thanks for that! Turns out, trying to put into words the vivid image you have in your mind isn't a walk in the park. But hey, we gave it our all to convey just how undeniably, unquestionably, obviously (right???) awesome our game is!
Participating in the event also sparked the creation of our very first merch! We whipped up some flyers, stickers with an "anime" flair, badges, and our FIRST-ever banner, which is destined for a place of honor in our future awesome game dev office. Interestingly, these items turned out to be quite popular — maybe because they were free? We should charge for it next time - funding for the game?
Let's not dwell too much on my photography skills and instead focus on how this experience also served as a fantastic team bonding moment. The first time is always special, right? Currently, the core team consists only of myself and the artmeister, but we had the pleasure of meeting a super talented sound engineer personally who joined us during the event. Hopefully, he will join us in the long ride.
